In all of life, we are told to ‘manage’ our lives to the best of our ability. The fact is most of us do not know ‘how’ this can be done. In all projects, we generally make a list of what we can do easily, what needs a little effort, what needs a lot of effort and what is impossible.
When we know this it becomes easy for us to focus our energies in the right direction and work accordingly.
No matter how much we may deny it, the fact is, our life too is like a project where we need to know we must know the importance of empowering ourselves.
Francis Assisi said, “God give me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the thing I can and the wisdom to know the difference.” As seekers, we need to know that this is the best way we ourselves can lead our lives. If we are beset with a challenge, health or otherwise, again this is the best way to handle whatever challenge we are facing.
The more we focus on what we can do and not we cannot, life is bound to change in that direction. This is the way of the universe, whether we call it serendipity, grace or the Law of Attraction.
It is ideal if we focus on acceptance, the first benchmark that we need to first understand and then completely apply. What really is acceptance? Acceptance in human psychology is a person’s assent to the reality or situation without attempting to change it or protest. The concept can be mirrored as acquiescence. In the project management of our life, acceptance is not defeat.
The fact is once we complete accept whatever challenge we may have, our focus then becomes looking for things we can do. This then makes our entire life positive and slowly, even if there is a challenge, it seems a minor one.
In my case, I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and have now totally overcome it, after I accepted that I did have this challenge. I found a solution through alternate healing methods.
I am clear I could not have overcome it if I had not ‘accepted’ I had an issue to deal with. Now, I am doing all that I ever wished to do and am leading a complete life, whether we call it ‘healed’ or ‘cured’.
Those who wish to have more details of my journey can do so by reading my book, Dancing with Life, Living with Multiple Sclerosis published by Hayhouse.
